2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the BuildSynq platform
- Process payments and manage financial transactions

3. AI and Automated Decision-Making
BuildSynq uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to provide core platform features. Specifically:
- Risk Scoring: Our AI analyzes project data, permit history, contractor records, and financial signals to generate risk scores. These scores may influence payment scheduling recommendations.
- Photo Verification: AI analyzes GPS-tagged photos to verify milestone completion.
- Payment Automation: Automated agents may trigger payment recommendations based on verified milestone completion.
- Cost Intelligence: AI estimates project costs using historical data, regional benchmarks, and materials pricing.
You have the right to request human review of any automated decision that significantly affects you. Contact us at privacy@buildsynq.com to exercise this right.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers: Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI processing), Twilio (messaging), Railway (cloud hosting), AWS (infrastructure)
- Project parties: Information necessary for project execution is shared between verified project participants (e.g., contractors and project owners on the same project)
- Government agencies: When required for compliance with federal, state, or local contracting regulations
- Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
5. Blockchain Data
BuildSynq uses the Solana blockchain as a tamper-proof audit trail for project records. When milestones are approved and payment events occur, a cryptographic record is written to the blockchain. This record cannot be altered or deleted. We write only event hashes and timestamps — no personally identifiable information is written to the blockchain. All payments are processed through Stripe; no money moves on-chain.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Services. For government contracting projects, we retain records for a minimum of 7 years to comply with federal record-keeping requirements. You may request deletion of your personal data subject to legal retention obligations.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations)
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time
- Restrict processing: Request that we limit how we use your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@buildsynq.com.
8. California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a CCPA request, contact privacy@buildsynq.com.
9. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including AES-256 database encryption, TLS encryption in transit, biometric authentication for mobile access, certificate pinning, jailbreak detection, and rate limiting. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
